Resolution Killer

It’s time to drop the New Year’s resolutions and grab a beer to wreck them. Resolution Killer blends the punch of the West-Coast with the juicy softness of the East, anchored by a malt base sturdy enough to handle a full hop barrage. We’re featuring the classics with Citra, Amarillo, Simcoe and Centennial. These hops hit every stage of the process — boil, knockout, fermentation and dry hop — blurring every line that usually separates the classic IPA camps. Adventure Hat Returns

A longtime fan favorite, Adventure Hat is finally back on tap for the Beer Club Holiday Toast at Lake Ridge on December 16. Landing at Potomac the very next day, 12/17. This full-bodied Strong American Black Ale is built with bold American malts and high-alpha hops, delivering deep richness and intensity. It pairs well with spicy foods and big, adventurous flavors.

Barrel-Aged Heavyweight Release

Our Barrel-Aged Heavyweight is returning for HUGE stout lovers. This massive Imperial Stout is built on an eight-malt foundation including Pale Chocolate, Malted Oats, and Roasted Barley, then aged nearly a full year in bourbon barrels. Extended barrel time develops deep notes of cocoa, toffee, fudge, oak, vanilla, and bourbon, creating a rich, complex winter stout with exceptional drinkability.

2025 Christmas Ale has a rich, malty sweetness and a firm, but pleasant hop presence that creates a contemplative drinking experience. Floral and coriander-like spice character as well as some soft notes of honey and melon linger. However, no actual spices or fruit were used in the creation of this beer; those flavor notes are a direct result of a warm fermentation with our house Belgian yeast. Add 10 months of lumber slumber in Tawny Port barrels, that were the former home of A.Smith Bowman's Isaac Bowman bourbon, and you have a smooth, complex drinking experience showcasing a drinkability rarely found with Belgian ales while maintaining all the complexity. A beer perfect to pair with food.

The gloves came off with this beer. The Heavyweight is a MASSIVE, complex and rich Imperial Stout. With eight rounds of malts including Pale Chocolate, Malted Oats and Roasted Barley, this beer is a bruiser! With notes of baker's cocoa, silky toffee and freshly made chocolate fudge, The Heavyweight has a dense and creamy mouthfeel. The hops play their role well here, keeping the sweetness in check with a spicy and herbal bitterness. Still, the malt is the champion of this beer.

We pushed ourselves and our brewhouse to the ropes, but we love Imperial Stouts so we had to toss our hat into the ring. A champion like The Heavyweight is guaranteed to return to the ring in some form eventually…

The Water's End Grand Cru is rich in its complexity and tradition. This year is no different featuring a blending of wild ales from Grand Cru past and present. One barrel of Grand Cru 2024 was selected for holding as it awaits the 2025 vintage and a perfectly blended fate. 

In recent years, Grand Cru Preview offers a peek behind the curtain of our annual favorite. This year the base beer was designed more specifically to stand alone while still providing the foundation for our custom wild yeast blend featured in the final product. Grand Cru Preview 2025 is a dopplebock by style. Historically brewed by German Friars near Munich, it was preferred during Lent as the heavily malted beer was rich in nutrients while they fasted through the day. The Friars called it Salvator or "liquid bread" and the strong alcohol while fasting probably passed the days a little quicker. Look for a strong malt backbone with biscuit, caramel and a little nuttiness both in the aroma and the flavor. A full mouthfeel comes from the large amount of residual sugar intentionally left behind for our wild yeast to feast as they create this year's Grand Cru.

Water's End's Kölsch starts off with the VERY best European malts and hops and we add a little know-how and patience. In traditional Kölsch tradition, we use a true Kölsch bier yeast strain and a fermentation regimen. Kölsch is a hybrid beer style, meaning that it uses ale yeast and is cold conditioned like a lager.

The deliciously tart-yet-crushable nature of our base sour ale is enhanced with loads of fresh passionfruit orange guava purée added to the fermentation tank!

American Wheat Ale with Tahitian Lime that was brewed to capture the essence of summer in a glass!

The Water's End and Prince William Historic Preservation collaboration continues with another Sip of History brew. Our Pub Ale, more formally known as ESB, originally descended from British IPA in the 19th Century and can be thought of as a British Pale Ale. These traditional Pale Ales followed a ladder system from Bitter to Special Bitter to Extra Special Bitter. As you ascended the ladder of British styles you would find a higher level of alcohol. Our Pub Ale will have some hop aroma from Willamette hops, an American descendant of Fuggle, used in the boil and dry hop. This malt forward beer is amber brown and much more balanced than its American counterpart and provides additional complexity of fruitiness from the yeast as well as some biscuit, caramel and toffee from specialty malts.

So Good, So Good! is W.E. Brew's 2024 Ales for ALS Beer. Ales for ALS is a national fundraising campaign created in 2013 by a Yakima Valley hop farming family to raise funds and awareness for ALS, or Lou Gehrig's disease. $1 from every full-pour and 32oz Crowler sold of So Good, So Good! will be donated to the ALS Therapy Development Institute.

Made from a Single Malt (Briess Pale) and a Single Hop variety (Mandarina Bavaria) And Fruit (Tangerine). Mandarina Bavaria is a very interesting German hop with a smooth fruit-forward flavor that is enhanced by the addition of real pureed tangerine.
